Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026. Applies to Daily Ink 1.0 with online Inky.

Publisher and operation

Daily Ink is provided by GS Holdings. Habits and journaling work on your device, without a Daily Ink account. Inky provides optional online conversation assistance with Premium and your permission. The app does not synchronize your journal to the cloud.

Local data

The app stores your habits, check-ins, goals, reminders, moods, writing, conversations, programs, reviews and preferences on your device. Widgets access the data needed for their display in the app's private shared container: progress, habits and, for My space widgets, notes or actions. The progress summary contains neither journal text nor Inky conversations. These exchanges between the app and its widgets remain on your device.

Inky and authorized transfers

When you authorize Inky and request a response, your message, recent conversation and relevant excerpts from your habits, moods, journal and program are sent over HTTPS to the Daily Ink server, then to OpenRouter and OpenAI to generate a Luna 6 response. Ordinary context covers the last 30 days; a past week you explicitly select may be older. Notes and missions from My space are not added automatically. Anything you copy into a message is transmitted with that message.

You can refuse or withdraw permission in Inky's settings. Withdrawal stops future transfers; it does not erase information already transmitted. Habits and writing remain available without Inky. AI can make mistakes: review its suggestions before applying them.

The Daily Ink relay does not store your text or responses in its database or application logs. Providers apply their own processing and retention rules, described below. The absence of storage on our relay does not mean information stays on your device.

Apple purchases and Premium access

Apple processes subscriptions and the lifetime purchase through StoreKit. For each Inky request, the app sends the relay an Apple-signed purchase proof. The relay verifies it and checks current entitlements with Apple, including expiration and refunds. The proof stays in memory during verification and is not sent to OpenRouter or OpenAI. GS Holdings does not receive your card or banking details.

Relay metadata and retention

To limit abuse and control costs, the relay stores a pseudonymous purchase identifier, a request identifier, date, cost and call status. In the commercial service, these records are deleted after 30 days by hourly maintenance, normally within the following hour. An outage may delay deletion until maintenance resumes. A global financial total without purchase identifiers or individual request details is retained.

Your network address necessarily passes through the infrastructure. The purchase verification limiter uses a hash of that address for a 60-second window. Expired hashes are removed on the next check or hourly maintenance; the raw address is not stored in the application database.

These periods apply to the commercial service's active database. Technical copies may remain in infrastructure backups until replaced or deleted according to the hosting provider's rotation cycle. Deletion from the active database does not guarantee simultaneous deletion from those copies. We do not promise the same retention period for backups. Contact us with a request about their retention.

TestFlight tests use a separate Apple Sandbox environment with the same transfer permissions. Technical test metadata is retained to validate tests, diagnose incidents and account for spending during the test campaign. The automatic 30-day deletion described above applies to the commercial service, not this test history.

Service providers

Hostinger hosts the Daily Ink server. We do not guarantee that all processing takes place in France or the European Union.

OpenRouter forwards requests to OpenAI for Luna 6. Our account disables training by paid providers, discounted data reuse, input/output logging and observability broadcast. The commercial service also disables OpenRouter response caching.

OpenRouter describes retaining technical metadata and anonymously categorizing a sample of requests, separately from conversation logging. See OpenRouter's collection rules. These settings do not guarantee zero retention. OpenRouter retains metadata for operational and legal needs without one fixed duration in its privacy policy.

OpenAI states that API data is not used for training by default. Abuse-monitoring logs may include messages and responses, normally for up to 30 days, with legal or security exceptions. Technical caching may also last up to 24 hours. We do not claim Zero Data Retention. See OpenAI's data rules.

International processing

Inky requests may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. OpenRouter describes adequacy decisions and European standard contractual clauses as safeguards in its transfer policy. Hostinger's processing terms also provide standard contractual clauses for relevant transfers. You can request information or a copy of applicable safeguards from us. Authorizing Inky is not a promise of exclusively European processing.

Local assistance, microphone and notifications

Journal wording assistance uses Apple's Foundation Models on device when available. It processes the selected draft; you must review and accept the proposal before replacement. Optional dictation uses SpeechAnalyzer on device. A language model may be downloaded from Apple. Audio is not saved as a recording or sent to the Inky relay. Text is added to the draft only at your request. Microphone permission is requested when dictation starts. Reminders are optional and scheduled locally after notification permission.

Export, deletion and history

You can export your data to a file created on your device and choose its destination through the system share sheet. You can delete data using the app's controls. Deleting a habit may delete its check-ins after confirmation. Inky history can be cleared in Settings or retained for your selected duration: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or without automatic expiry. Clearing local history does not erase information already sent to providers or the relay's security metadata.

Advertising, tracking and health

Daily Ink does not show ads, use advertising identifiers or include third-party behavior analytics or crash reporting. Metadata needed to operate Inky is described above. Daily Ink is an organization and reflection tool, not specifically directed to children. Inky does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Purposes and legal bases

Optional content transfers to Inky rely on your consent. Your writing or habits may reveal sensitive information, including health information; your permission also covers the context described before activation. Habits and journaling remain available if you refuse these transfers. Do not include confidential information about another person without the right to share it.

Premium verification and responses to support requests are necessary to provide the service you request. Abuse prevention and cost control rely on our legitimate interest in securing the service. Information required to comply with a legal obligation is processed for that purpose. Inky provides suggestions; it does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on you. You confirm changes before they are applied.

Your rights and requests

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You may complain to the CNIL or your local data-protection authority.

Contact us at the address below. Describe your request without sending journal text, a complete conversation, an Apple password or banking information. We do not operate named Daily Ink accounts; we may request only information necessary to locate relevant purchase metadata and verify your request. We handle requests within legal deadlines and contact the relevant providers when needed. Data held only on your device can be exported or deleted in the app. Support correspondence is kept while handling the request, then as required by legal obligations or to resolve a dispute.
